Product Spotlight: Nouri
Shots Shots Shots - Nouri Nourisment
We have a lot of products at BECYCLE and are always excited to introduce new selections. But why do we choose the brands that we do? In the “Athleisure” section of our BEintheknow blog, we will be featuring the brands and products you find sprinkled around our studio. To look and feel your best, beyond the bike or barre, we’ll share more about some of our favorite things.
First up, is a small product, with big benefits - NOURI. Have you seen the little shot bottles at the front desk? NOURI is 100% natural, vegan and unlike other sports nutrition companies that focus on pills and powders (which are messy and not as easily absorbed by the body). Consuming in a liquid shot format means you get a highly concentrated liquid, it is also x10 more bioavailable than powder formats. The flavors - BOOST, FOCUS and LUST - provide concentration, energy and more intense enjoyment.
Beyond the health benefits, we’re just as excited that the brand is the brainchild of one of our inaugural BECYCLE members - Danielle Sheridan. The 6-Week Challenge was what got Danielle hooked, and she was excited to find a spin experience similar to what she was used to in London. “I not only have tremendous respect for Gundi and the female-run aspect of the business, but she, her team and trainers are awesome. More than anything I love the community and the people I have met,” Danielle says.
A year and a half later, Danielle, and her brand are well known fixtures at BECYCLE.
"Danielle has been a regular customer at BECYCLE since we opened, so we already knew her lovely face,” said Gundula Coellen, Founder & CEO of BECYCLE. “Several months later when she came to us with the concept of NOURI and shared samples, we were instant true fans. We thought the rest of BECYCLE would be as well."
Many of the herbs used in the blends i.e. Eleuthero (FOCUS) and Maca (BOOST) have been taken by professional athletes and astronauts to increase stamina, performance and endurance. Studies have also shown that Maca has an ability to not only decrease the biomarkers for physical exhaustion but also relieve the build up of lactic acid in the muscles, which happens as a result of over exercise.
It’s up to you whether you take one before or after a workout, or maybe even mix it into a cocktail before a night out. Danielle advises that it is best to take it 20 minutes before a workout. “Luckily, NOURI is only 60ml, which means it’s a small enough volume to drink right before a workout without feeling nauseous,” she says.
But don’t toss the bottle when you’re done. Like a good metabolism spike after spin, NOURI shots are the gift that keep on giving. The bottles can be used as vases, oil candles, butterfly feeders or glitter holders. Check out the upcycling page on their site for some inspiration.
