Carolin

Talk about sports-obsessed! When Carolin is not in the RIDE room she's training for a running race or triathlon. She loves the rush of endorphins when reaching the finish line, and brings that same taste of competition to her class. Expect deep house and techno beats, and get ready to sweat!

Fit-focused Qs:

What is your go-to breakfast on a busy morning? I’m kind of obsessed with scheduling my time, which makes me also structure where, when and what I eat. Carefully prepared at home, I have yogurt, fruits, nuts and seeds at work. And - of course - coffee!

What's your best strategy to stay motivated? Join a run crew! I started running with KRAFT a year ago and I’m so grateful for this community. No matter the level, everybody respects, supports and motivates each other. This mutual appreciation is very precious and I believe we’d have a better world if we’d spread this to other parts of our lives.

The best thing we can do for ourselves after a workout is… On weekends: Nothing better than showering, putting on a big fresh t-shirt and having a long cozy breakfast. Then I’m literally unbeatable!

Is there a special dietary regime you follow? Honestly, I’m so done following diets. I’ve often tried sticking to strict dietary guidelines, but none of them has worked in the long run. Now I just try to listen to my body and fuel it up with food that it really needs. To me, nutrition is just as individual as each of us, our training and our body. We all have to find our own way that keeps us both mentally and physically healthy.

What are your top three exercises to do at home? Recovery, recovery and recovery! Since I prefer to be outdoors, running or swimming, the only thing I do at home is stretching and fascia training after long runs.

What are your tips to have energy all day? Even if I had a long night and just don’t wanna get out of bed, getting up and working out in the morning always helps to recharge my batteries.

What's your favourite motivational quote? “The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up. Make sure you’re very courageous: be strong, be extremely kind, and above all be humble.” — Serena Williams

Quick-fire Qs

Favourite smoothie at MyGoodness: Spin Around
Best Restaurant in Berlin: I’m addicted to hummus, so it was only a matter of time before I fell in love with Kanaan and Yafo.
Best Bar in Berlin: Lugosi is excellent for philosophical deep talks about life. And I love their Pisco Sour!
Best Place to dance in Berlin: I became a fan of day raves instead of partying all night. That’s why I like to spend mild summer evenings dancing at Else or Heide.
Favourite exercise: Deadlifts. Always and forever.
Least favourite exercise: Pull-ups. I don't even move one inch upwards and have no continuous patience to learn it. It’s on my bucket list, though…

Silly Qs:

Dog, cats, neither? Why? I probably won't make many friends by saying that, but I'm not a pet lover at all. What I do like very much are farm animals. Have you ever touched a cow’s huge, fluffy ears? Adorable!

What's your personal theme song? All-time favorite: One Way Or Another from Blondie.

You're stranded on an island. What's the one thing you'd wish you had and why?  Even if it were the absolute paradise, the idea of being locked up somewhere limits me. So I’d wish for a boat…
