Unlock Your Potential With Breathwork
Ahead of our Create Your Vision 2020 workshop this weekend, we sat down with guest teacher Eva Kaczor to understand more about how breathwork can help you access deeper layers of your mind to define a future vision for the year ahead.
1. How does breathwork release anxiety? What are the biomechanics?
Your breath is the bridge between the physical, emotional and mental body - in biomechanics: you can influence your autonomous nervous system and therefore the hormone system by breathing. What the yogis did know and explore thousand of years ago with pranayama is now proven by neuroscience. Deep breathing influences the vagus nerve that regulates the function of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for sleep, digestion, relaxation and self-healing. Emotions such as anxiety release cortisol, one of the stress hormones. With specific breathwork that releases feel good hormones such as oxytocin and dopamine you can balance this reaction and literally feel better, calmer and safe.
2. What are the most powerful experiences you've seen in your breathwork sessions so far?
It wasn’t so much during PSYCHEDELIC BREATH®, my signature breath ritual, but right after that participants shared beautiful experiences with me. At Burning Man last year I got messages such as “I travelled my past and saw my future.” “We saved our marriage.” “I felt like me for the first time.”
3. With so many goal-setting workshops at this time of year, how is your workshop different? What will be the highlight?
We won’t set goals. We will access deeper layers of your mind through specific breathing and meditation techniques. With deeper layers I mean highly creative parts so you can define a future vision that is not only based on what you already know. Feelings are the key to see what you want. We will work with them.
4. Do you believe a vision should be fixed and lasting for the year? Do you see people getting stressed when they don't meet their vision?
Good question. A vision is nothing to achieve as in a way it is already within you. What we do with creating the vision board is priming your brain to see different - to see opportunities to love aligned with this vision. The work really is the emotional part as you go on with life. It starts by allowing yourself to feel everything, let emotions pass through you and at the same find ways to lift yourself up, literally into higher vibrations. That is one of the keys to manifestations and has many beautiful side effects.
