1. A workshop on womb… we’re fascinated. What can we expect?

In the ‘Voice of the Womb’ Workshop, I will be offering an introduction to Yin Tao where I will teach movement meditation around the reproductive organs and a brief history of the use of the yoni egg.

The workshop will be offering exercises for women who want to be more energetic, seek a higher state of well-being, a deeper spiritual connection and stronger sexuality.

2. What does Voice of The Womb mean? Why is it an important topic to explore?

There is a striking similarity between the vocal apparatus and the female reproductive organs. All the changes that happen in the vocal apparat happen parallel in the lower pelvic floor or vice versa. So one can speak of parallel organs, such as the mouth and cervix, the oral cavity and uterus, the inner ear and ovary, vocal folds and labia, the larynx and vagina… It is no coincidence that there is this connection between the larynx and the lower pelvic floor. This means that the voice is connected to our origin, to our divine spark, to our life energy, to our space of creation. It is also no coincidence that the female sexual organ has so many parallels to the vocal apparatus and that the collectively wounded female is hidden in the womb of women.

3. For those who are unfamiliar with the yoni egg, can you describe this practice?

The tradition of exercising the pelvic and vaginal floor muscles with polished stone eggs inserted inside the vagina, has been around for over two thousand years. The exercises were believed by some to be a way for the queen and concubines to please the king sexually, but originally the jade egg practice and vaginal weight lifting were implemented for improving physical and spiritual health, mainly by bringing more power to the chi muscle to enhance the chi or life force and bring the sexual energy inward and upward where it could be transformed into higher energy. When a woman does her jade egg exercises with a yoni egg, it is believed that the chi is intensified within, which amplifies her chi energy outward where it is transformed into spiritual energy.

3. Is there anything we should wear or bring to the workshop? Is it suitable for all women?

Just wear comfortable clothes to move in. The workshop is open for all women, including pregnant women.
