Fit-focused Qs:

What is your go-to breakfast on a busy morning? I have been loving fresh mango and banana with almond yoghurt, granola, cinnamon topped with a little maple syrup!

What's your best strategy to stay motivated? Focusing on the feeling after you've finished. I love that post-workout high, I always feel so good after a hard workout, so I always think about how good I am going to feel after all those endorphins have been released!

The best thing we can do for ourselves after a workout is… Giving your body enough time to rest and recover! Listening to our bodies is so important. Depending on the workout, will depend how long you need, but if we learn to tune in more, we will know when maybe we've pushed a bit too hard, and we need a couple days to allow our muscles to recover before going for another workout.

Is there a special dietary regime you follow? What changes have you seen or felt since you have started it? I have always been relatively conscious about what I eat based on basic nutrition, but I hate diets, and have never even attempted one. I always eat what I want, and what my body craves based on how my body is feeling. Sometimes I crave pizza, sometimes I crave a huge salad full of veggies, so I give my body what it wants. I have transitioned to a plant-based diet over the past 5 years, and fully plant-based for 3, and I have never loved food more!

What are your top three exercises to do at home? Single leg extensions (arabesque) is always great for glutes, planks (good for everything) and of course, child's pose! This one's great after teaching lots of barre classes, I love a good resting pose.

What are your tips to have energy all day? Eating a variety of plant foods, (lots of veggies, and carbohydrates). I have become the queen of power naps (30mins max.), when teaching multiple classes a day, or just making sure I get enough sleep!

What's your favourite motivational quote if any?  “Be kind to every kind”

Dog, cats, neither? Why? Crazy cat lady for life! I grew up with cats since I was 3 years old. What most people hate about cats, is what I love. They don't care if you like them or not, they are independent, and you need to work for their affection.

What's your personal theme song? 'Grown Woman'- Beyonce 

You're stranded on an island. What's the one thing you'd wish you had and why? A loved one there with me, because human connection is essential. A person is not a thing, but I think that would be the main thing I would wish I could have. But if it had to be an actual 'thing' then it would have to be my music, or an instrument.
